Clay County High School is the proud owner of probably the most coveted prize and greatest of all records in Alabama high school football. The streak began on September 15, 1994 on a seemingly insignificant regular season contest against Elmore County. A game in which Clay County won 28-7. On October 17, 1997 the panthers finally ended the 50 game win streak record that Verbena High School had set from 1943-1947. Clay County defeated the Reeltown Rebels on that night 43-16 and own the greatest streak in Alabama High School sports history, a streak which many of us may never see be broken. *Outscored opponents 1,961 to 178 during streak *34 Shutouts during streak *62% of all wins during streak were shutouts *Most Points scored in a game during streak: 79 (Beulah 1996) *Largest Margin of victory during streak: 67 (Beulah 1996) *Avg Points per game during streak 35.6 to opponents 3.2 *16 Playoff wins during streak *10 Playoff shutouts during streak *Clay County won 47 of 55 games by double digits *38 wins by 25 points or more *Only 4 wins by 3 points or less Games won by 10 points or more: 3 Games won by 20 points or more: 10 Games won by 30 points or more: 9 Games won by 40 points or more: 18 Games won by 50 points or more: 6 Games won by 60 points or more: 1
